Advocacy

  The chapter's Director of Advocacy & Legislation, David Hollingshead, Esq., is responsible for advocating for the civil rights of the members.  This includes following up on any complaints of violations of the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA).  He also follows through on any complaints of members being treated unfairly due to their disability. 

  Mr. Hollingshead is also tasked with dealing with our local and state governments while focusing on the needs of Veterans and people with disabilities.  He also assists our national organization as needed in efforts addressing federal legislative and regulatory actions.  Mr. Hollingshead keeps the membership of the chapter informed of current legislation through his bimonthly report in the chapter's newsletter. If you have any questions for our Director of Advocacy please email him at advocacy@bawpva.org.

The BAWPVA's legislation program is responsible for keeping up with California and Federal legislation that can affect Veterans and disabled people.
